IRUSU. was born in 2019 out of a love of all things fragrant, and a commitment to the environment and supporting local and national causes. It is based between Stoke Newington, London, and by the sea in South Wales.

IRUSU. Candles are produced in an as environmentally conscious way as possible, from where the sustainable soy wax and essential oils are sourced to how they are packaged. (The former is manufactured in the UK.)

All of your purchases are gift wrapped minimally, but lovingly in cardboard boxes, protected with tissue paper and sealed with tape which is all recyclable and where possible made from a high % of recycled materials.

If your order is a full-size duo or bigger, the candles are individually wrapped and further protected with 100% biodegradable / compostable filler manufactured in Wales.

In addition to this, a discount is offered for you to place an order without the resealable screw lid. Enter ‘NOTHANKS’ at the checkout to let us know you don’t want a lid and receive 15% off any order over £40.

If you’d like to return your jars + lids to us we’re also now offering a 20% discount on your next order of £50 or over. Just drop a note to knockknock@irusu.co.uk to say you’re sending them (two minimum please,) and pop them in the post, (you can return them in the packaging you received them in,) to: IRUSU. In January 2021 IRUSU. signed up to Ecologi, a fantastic initiative to help businesses and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint. So far IRUSU. has removed 86.5 tonnes of CO2e, (the equivalent of driving over 214 000 miles in a car,) from the atmosphere and planted nearly 4500 trees. Since launch - IRUSU. has donated just over £2000 to causes and organisations we believe in and stand with. We believe if we get it, we help spread it. (Unlike some other things we could mention… 😷)

These have included donations to (note we are not officially affiliated with these organisations except NLAH who we have a personal relationship with,): Crisis At Christmas, Nafisyat Intercultural Therapy Centre, The Maya Centre - Counselling For Women and Black Minds Matter as well as our ongoing commitment to North London Action For The Homeless who have had the lion’s share of that donation of £1000 to date. This includes a 10% full sale price donation (even if you use a discount code,) from the: Sending You Joy, Sending You Fun, Sending You Happy Collection.
